Testimonials
"I walked Hope, and she is definitely starting to come out of her shell. She was really only scared when a couple of quads came by us and when cars drove by, but she was even pretty good, then. My mom walked Niko, and she has gotten so much more hyper then she was last time. It must be a Lab thing, because when we had a Lab staying at our house, it was winter and he went crazy in the snow, but during the summer he was perfectly fine."

PVHS aims to ensure our animals go to safe, suitable homes. You must be 18 years of age or older to adopt.

BEFORE THE ADOPTION

You will be required to fill out a "Lifestyle Assessment" (Click to view and print) before you can adopt one of our animals, and will be asked to pay a deposit to hold the animal you are interested in. The deposit will be applied to the full adoption fee when the adoption is completed. We require 2 personal references to learn about the environment you will provide the animal once in your care. You will not be able to take an animal home with you until your references have been checked. All adoptions require your signature and contact info. You can scan the completed form and email it to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or fax it to 822-3904.

AFTER THE ADOPTION

If you adopt a pet from us but are unable to take it to it's new home within 4 business days, we will require that you pay a fee of $10 for each day it remains at the shelter. This does not apply for puppies and kittens that are adopted before the age of 8 weeks that must remain at the shelter until they are weaned from their mother.

If the pet you selected has not yet been spayed or neutered, you will be required to stay in communication with us so we can arrange the sterilization appointment on your behalf. At your convenience, we will schedule your pet for surgery, as ask that you drop off and pick up your pet from the veterinarian office we book you at.  There will be no extra charge to you, as the sterilization cost is included in the adoption fee.

RETURN POLICY

After you have taken your new pet home, you have 10 days to assess it's suitabiltity in it's new environment. If you feel you cannot or should not keep the animal, you will be entitled to a full refund of fees paid within ten days of its return. Beyond ten days, regardless of the time lapse, whether it be a month or a year, we require that should your situation change or you decide you don't wish to keep the animal, that it is returned to our shelter.
