Spice was surrendered, along with her sister Sugar, when allergies developed in members of her previous family. Spice did not adjust well to the shelter environment at first, but is finally adjusting and starting to relax. We would not recommend Spice for a home with children, as Spice prefers an environment where interaction is not forced. She is happy to receive affection, but prefers if she is the one soliciting the interaction. She would likely adjust to another cat in the home, provided it was a well-adjusted and relaxed cat that would give her the space she desires. We know Spice will make a perfect pet for someone and she is ready for a home of her own! Give her a chance and she'll spice up your life!

UPDATE: Spice has really started to show her true self these last couple of months. She is much more relaxed and even solicits attention from volunteers and, when she thinks no one is looking, we've even caught her trying to play with some of the other cats! She will make a great companion for someone that can offer her the space she needs to feel comfortable.
