Testimonials
"I adopted one of the puppies that came to us from you, she is a little sweetheart and has brought so much joy back into our home after losing our last dog to Cancer. She was called Bradi when we got her, we renamed her Lady (because she really is) I would like to thank all of you for the time and effort to send these pups to us here in Edmonton. And my hopes and prayers go out to all of you and our furry friends there. God Bless"

The Pembina Valley Humane Society strongly believes that all companion animals (dogs and cats) should be spayed or neutered. All animals that come into our care are sterilized, and to date, since 2002, we are proud to report we have completed over 700 spay or neuter surgeries.

Currently, we partner with the Morden/Winkler veterinary clinics to help us. When you adopt a pet from the PVHS, the fee you pay ensures that it will already be spayed or neutered, or if it is not, you will be given a certificate that entitles you to take it yourself to the Morden/Winkler clinic.

Winnipeg Humane Society's SNAP (Spay and Neuter Assistance Program)

If you are in a reduced income level and cannot afford to pay to have your own pet spayed or neutered, you may qualify for a reduced rate at the Winnipeg Humane Society. Please call WHS directly to register for thier program at 204-888-7627.

Dogs and Cats on Farms

Every year, hundreds of unwanted animals are born on farms in our rural areas because owners do not want to incur the costs of sterilization surgeries. Owners of mulitple pets may feel it's too expensive to do one, let alone two or more animals. Sadly, our shelter is often at capicity and we are unable to take in these unwanted litters. As a result, many animals are "disposed of" in inhumane ways.  If you have multiple pets that need sterilization, you may qualify for the Winnipeg Humane Society's assistance program. Call 204-888-7627 for more info.
